Photomania USA is our #19 online digital photo developer.

Ease of Use - Ordering Process:  

PhotomaniaUSA's process of downloading their program to upload digital images to their site is very easy to use. One aspect of this process that we appreciated was a progress bar that displayed the progress of the download while in action. Ordering your prints through this service is a relatively easy thing to do too.

Quality of Prints:  

Photomania USA did a less than adequate job on the photos we sent them–see comments below:

• People Inside: The details in this print are softer than and not as crisp as the original. The green blouse in the picture now looks blue. Overall this print looks old and bleached out.
• Building Outside: This print looks old and bleached out. The colors of the pillars are slightly faded and yellow, where they should be a brighter white. The details are softer than and not as crisp as the original.
• People Outside: Like the other prints received back from Photomania, this print looks old and bleached out. Blouse colors also have changed slightly.

Note: To check quality, we took each set of prints received from the online photo developer and laid them down, side-by-side for comparison.

Pricing:  

Photomania USA's per-print pricing is on the expensive side.

Service and Site Features:  

Photomania USA allows you to store your photos online for a maximum of 60 days for sharing purposes, but you can add extra storage capacity for a fee.

This service also offers the ability to create greeting cards, but nothing else.

Shipping Costs/ Turn Around Time:  

Photomania USA's charges to ship us five 4 x 6 inch prints were $1.99, the actual postage for USPS First Class was $.60, leaving $1.39 for packaging and handling. This total shipping cost was typical of the majority of the centers we reviewed.

Our prints came in a paper envelope, which was reinforced with two, lightweight, cardboard inserts and then placed in an envelope.

Summary:  

Photomania USA is a basic online digital photo developing service with very few bells and whistles, higher-priced prints and unimpressive results.
